Day 120 – Year 2 – Dahab, Egypt
The theme for this week is… Beaches! I’m sorry, I have an unhealthy obsession with these. Please bear with me as I feature some more ;]
First up is Dahab, a gorgeous strech of coastline on Egypt’s Sanai Peninsula.

Day 119 – Year 2 – Novorossiysk, Russia
From one coast of Russia to the other… This is Russia’s main port on the Black Sea.
Day 118 – Year 2 – Mount Elbrus, Russia
Clearly I need to hit up the Caucasus mountain range, as well.
Day 117 – Year 2 – Golden Mountains of Altai, Russia
This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in central Siberia consisting of the Altai and Katun Natural Reserves, Lake Teletskoye, Belukha Mountain, and the Ukok Plateau. So freaking pretty.
Day 116 – Year 2 – Lena Pillars, Russia
This is a natural rock formation (the pillars are 150-300m high!) along the banks of the Lena River in far eastern Siberia.
Day 115 – Year 2 – Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia
I seem to be leaning more towards eastern Russia with this theme, but oh well! I think living in the shadow of a volcano would freak me out a little, but this is so breathtaking…
Day 114 – Year 2 – Church on Blood, Yekaterinburg, Russia
This is a Russian Orthodox church built on the site where Nicholas II and several members of his family and household were shot by the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War. My inner history nerd needs to be satisfied!
Day 113 – Year 2 – Vladivostok, Russia
My apologies in getting a bit of a late start on this week’s theme of… Russia!
First up… the largest city in Russia’s far east.
Day 112 – Year 2 – Great Bear Lake, Northwest Territories
This is the largest lake located entirely within Canada, and is the… seventh or eighth largest on the planet?
Day 111 – Year 2 – Whitehorse, Yukon
This is the capital of the Yukon, and the largest city in northern Canada. I know a few people who live here. I think it’s about time I dropped in for a visit!
